Al Ettifaq Football Club
Al Ettifaq Football Club نادي الاتفاق لكرة القدم is a professional football club in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. It was established by the merger of three Damman clubs in 1944. Al Ettifaq were the first Saudi team to win an international title – the 1984 Arab Club Champions Cup. They were also the first to win the Saudi Premier League without any defeats, and the first Saudi team to win the GCC Champions League. Al Ettifaq have a total of 13 different titles to their name.
The establishment of the Saudi Ittifaq Club began when three teams—the People’s Team, led by Fares Al-Hamid, the Youth Team, and the Al-Taawoun team’s Abdullah bin Hussein Al-Jaryan—met in Dammam, either at one of the teams’ clubs or at the latter’s home, and decided to combine into a single group.
The people living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Dammam began to recognize and support these bands’ artistic talent. Fares Al-Hamid proposed the name Al-Ittifaq for the new club, which was accepted by all . The team’s emblem was first designed in green and white but was subsequently changed to green and red after the ball collected some of the other teams. The young people in the city who decided to form a formidable squad soon showed their goals.
